This workshop introduces the five-step approach to risk assessment, covering hazard identification, evaluation of severity and likelihood, and the development of effective risk mitigation strategies.
Participants will apply these principles to a real or self-selected scenario, gaining hands-on experience in completing a risk assessment.
The session emphasizes risk assessment as a practical planning and decision-making tool that supports clarity, communication, and proactive management in complex working environments.

Anna Glover
Anna Glover (they/them) is Director of Theater Safety and Occupational Health and faculty at Yale University’s David Geffen School of Drama. Prior to joining Yale, Anna spent more than 12 years working at two of the United Kingdom’s leading cultural institutions: London’s Royal National Theatre and Southbank Centre. After moving to the United States in 2016, they qualified as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and developed a robust consulting practice in live entertainment and the arts. Anna is active with USITT, founded Safety Advisors Forum Live Entertainment (SAFLE)- Their work bridges regulatory compliance with human-centered risk literacy, integrating behavioral safety, decision science, and organizational culture into creative practice. Anna continues to consult internationally.
