Workshop on site-specific performance (two days)
The Creative Space is a practical workshop for makers, designers, directors, performers, community artists, and performance artists. Over two intensive days, we will delve into non-theatrical spaces, exploring their past and present, and reimagining them in ways you've never seen before.
When? 10th-11th June, 09:00 - 16:00 both days .Where? We will meet at Det Norske Teatret. We will be both inside and outside.Food? The fee includes lunch both days.
Working with political, social, cultural, and historical contexts as inspiration, encouraging you to celebrate these spaces for what they once were and what they could become. It's a highly practical, creative, and artistic experience that will draw upon your unique skills as an artist. Whether you're looking to breathe new life into forgotten places or see familiar spaces in a new light, the workshop offers a valuable opportunity to expand your artistic horizons.
The workshop is led by Graham Hicks (UK). Hicks has over twenty years of experience in street theatre and outdoor work, collaborating with companies such as Lantern Company, CoCo Loco, Surge, Walk the Plank, Lume Teatro Legs on The Wall. His notable projects include "Fish Out of Water" and "Urban Safari," which toured Scotland and featured at the Surge Festival.
